Adding the mMIPS compiler to the windows environment

This step depends on the operating system that you are using. Please select the correct OS from the lits below.


Windows Vista

  1. Right-click on the 'Computer' icon on your desktop and select the option 'Properties' from the menu.

  2. Select the task 'Advanced system settings' from the panel on the left.

  3. Click on the button 'Environment Variables'. A new windows opens that shows all environment variables (see screenshot below).

  4. Select the PATH variable, which is located inside the system variables, and press the 'Edit' button. Next, you add the directory '/cygdrive/d/mmips/lcc/lccdir' to the path. Click 'Ok' to confirm this change in the PATH variable.

  5. Create also a new variable LCCDIR, within the system variables, with the value '/cygdrive/d/mmips/lcc/lccdir'.

At this point, the software installation is complete and you are ready to start the first lab course.


Windows XP

  1. Right-click on the 'My Computer' icon on your desktop and select the option 'Properties' from the menu.

  2. Select the tab 'Advanced'.

  3. Click on the button 'Environment Variables'. A new windows opens that shows all environment variables (see screenshot below).

  4. Select the PATH variable and press the 'Edit' button. Next, you add the directory '/cygdrive/d/mmips/lcc/lccdir' to the path. Click 'Ok' to confirm this change in the PATH variable.

  5. Create also a new variable LCCDIR with the value '/cygdrive/d/mmips/lcc/lccdir'.

At this point, the software installation is complete and you are ready to start the first lab course.
